What Is "Stop Sleeping"?
Basically I'm just going to reccomend artists or albums that you might not have checked out. Most of these will be Hip-Hop recommendations, as that's the genre I mostly listen to, but I'll try to keep them appealing to a broader public.
So my first recommendation, and one of my favorite albums, is First Born by Eyedea & Abilities. This album is something you have to listen to all the way though, and it's a pretty intense listen. Eyedea is a great rapper, but if you don't keep up with what he's saying you may get lost in his metaphorical language when he's talking about his ideas filling him with void (?) comparing human brains to cubicles (??) or imagining his life as a fish (???). The beats are produced and mixed by his DJ, Abilities, who seems to make rather simplistic beats sound complex with his scratches and mixes. They make an incredibly unique duo, and are definitely worth a listen.
